In May of this year, we were tasked with producing multiple commercials for NBC Telemundo's news division. Initially, when you hear you're producing a campaign for the News, the expectation is that it will be fact-based, filming the news anchors, perhaps getting some B-Roll inside the studios, etc. But what we were given from the marketing team was hysterical copy for two very fun spots. We worked with the agency of record, Mono Madrid.
Both commercials had the same premise: an active viewer of NBC Telemundo news was reacting to something he heard on last night's news. Now, each of these viewers took the news to heart and went a bit overboard. But if Julio Baqueiro says it's going to rain on the telecast, well...you prepare for it. Granted, most people wouldn't go out and build an actual Arc...but that's neither here nor there.
These were really a lot of fun to produce. Logistically challenging, along with lots of CGI for the "Arca" campaign. But our director, Oliver Garland, was up to the task, creating two memorable and hopefully soon-to-be award-winning spots!
